It routinely appeared as a top priority in employee surveys and so it is an important focus to keep employees connected and engaged. Superior Plus had a newsletter, but it was sent out as a static document without links, pushing employees out to additional resources in case of questions. And there wasn’t a way to track views or measure impact.

Additionally, with a large number of employees in the field, the team wanted a way to highlight examples of great work to unify and educate the workforce on best practices while shouting out successes.

Superior Plus worked with Reward Gateway | Edenred to build out The Pipeline, a single place for departmental documentation, key contact information, rewards and recognition, safety resources and communications. While efforts are ongoing to share critical business information on the platform, the most engaging articles have been those that bring a human element to the forefront – especially employee spotlights and personal stories.

One of their most popular blogs is “Fueling Connections,” which is open for employees to use and post information on training events, celebrations and region-specific news. The platform has been essential in creating connection with employees during times of change, and the leadership team works to stay visible and active with a schedule of posts and town hall meetings recorded and available on demand.

Building on recognition

Using The Pipeline’s recognition features, employees can send eCards to recognize each other for living the Superior Plus Tenets. They can also nominate a peer to receive reward points for going above and beyond.

Managers have access to a reward pot and can send on-the-spot points that employees can redeem on The Pipeline with hundreds of retailers, from Amazon to Lowe’s to Airbnb. What they achieved

While the team is always looking for ways to adjust and refine their approach, they have used The Pipeline to create a repository for information streams and easy access to the essential basics. With more than 1,100 logins a month, and 73,000 views on their communications content, and more than 1,250 comments engaging with that content in the last 12 months, they have a solid foundation to build on. Their workforce is also benefiting from 4400 visible recognition moments and more than $66K in rewards sent to provide appreciation to a widely distributed team.
