The challenge

The challenges the business was facing were difficulties attracting, engaging and retaining staff. Acro had no internet, very limited internal communications and limited discounts. Beyond that, the organization also had no recognition program. HR Director Cathy Girling needed a solution that would solve not just one, but many of the organization's issues to boost engagement at Acro with its workforce, where 1/3 of the company's staff were on the shop floor with no access to a PC.

The approach

Working with Reward Gateway, Acro put an engagement platform in place that gives employees access to retail discounts, an employee recognition program to send peer-to-peer eCards, a company blog to keep updated on important company news and links to the company's social media feeds. 

Additionally, employees can now access key documents to help them do their job better, such as process and procedure documentation. 

The results

Acro's dedicated employee platform called "My Acro" is accessible anytime, anywhere to all employees. Since implementing the program, the company has increased its engagement from 55% of staff registrations to 83%. 

Employees use the platform on a regular basis to get retail discounts, nominate their colleagues for recognition awards and access critical communications from the company. The score for "Proud to work for Acro" from employees has improved from 77% to 84% and employee turnover as a whole has reduced.
