Glenn Elliott, Managing Director of the UK's largest employee benefits provider Asperity.

Glenn Elliott, Managing Director of the UK's largest employee benefits provider Asperity Employee Benefits, was last night announced as a winner in the 'Business Services' category at the London & South finals of the Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2010.

From a pool of over 100 entrants, 49 of the UK's most successful entrepreneurs were shortlisted as semi-finalists for the prestigious award. The list was then whittled down to 18 regional winners at the Entrepreneur of the Year ceremony last night at London's Riverbank Park Plaza hotel.

Glenn will join the other 17 finalists at the national awards ceremony in October, where this year's winner UK will be crowned as Entrepreneur of the Year by Joanna Lumley.

Having started several business ventures in his early years - including the school tuck-shop, school magazine, crisp delivery business and a soft toy production company all before he reached 16 - Glenn founded Asperity with a credit card in 2006. The company is now the UK market leader with 60 staff servicing 350 corporate clients. The business will next month report turnover of £25m with profit of over £1million. The judges were particularly impressed at the speed of Asperity's growth which has been achieved with no borrowings, debt or external investment.

Asperity Employee Benefits helps leading companies lower payroll costs by boosting salary effectiveness and employee engagement with negotiated retail discounts and tax-efficient benefits.
