Last week, more than 200 HR changemakers tuned into our very first virtual Engagement Excellence Live, to learn more about the future of work. The half-day event was jam packed with sessions about how HR leaders can connect, support and recognize their people during a cultural revolution.

Kathy Delaney-Smith, Women's Basketball Coach at Harvard University, winningest Ivy League coach in history, was interviewed by our Head of Global Solutions Marketing, Erin DiVincenzo (a former player of hers) and spoke about the four keys to building more resilient teams. She talked about the importance of being human, putting your people first and “acting as if” to improve your leadership skills.

Next up, our Director of Client Culture and Engagement, Alex Powell, gave practical takeaways for HR leaders to fuel a culture of growth, especially during challenging times. Alex introduced a new framework to help HR and engagement professionals create an actionable plan to build and sustain momentum during the next phase of the employee engagement journey.

Afterwards, Sam Cordaro, Vice President at Five Star Bank, shed light on how to align old school and new school HR practices. Sam gave actionable takeaways for HR professionals to drive a strategic recognition culture at their own organization, while giving an insider glimpse at the culture he’s helped shape at Five Star Bank, using employee engagement technology.

With plenty of HR changemakers at hand, it was the perfect setting for storytelling, especially as some of our clients (from ORBIS Corporation, Heritage Christian Services and VP Supply) shared their own practical tips and lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic to create sustainable initiatives for their people.

We couldn’t end the day without a fun, friendly competition – while we had many entrants in our social channels, only a few attendees walked away the winners of our special prizes to show off how they were tuning into EnExLive! The winners were from a variety of industries, including CareerBuilder, Acquia and The Co-operators.
