It’s only been a few weeks since we had dozens of HR professionals from around NSW join us for our first ever Engagement Excellence Live in Australia. The theme was HR Changemakers: Inspiring Cultural Change and Driving Company Growth with Strategic Employee Engagement, and it was such a fantastic way to kick off Reward Gateway’s event series down under – we had a full house and plenty of energy buzzing around our Sydney office!

After working on the Engagement Excellence Live events in the UK, I was over the moon to launch the event series for the Aussie HR community. Running an event that brings Changemakers together and gets people excited about making the world a better place to work is probably the best part of my job.

I really enjoy meeting our clients face-to-face, and also introducing new people to Reward Gateway and the work that we do. Most of all, the whole RG team loves the opportunity to engage with the greater Changemaker community and help people find the support they need to really make a difference in their own workplaces.

We had a jam-packed morning, with Kylie Green, Reward Gateway’s SVP Consulting introducing the topic of Changemakers, and talking about the three key traits that people must have if they want to successfully lead organisations through lasting, impactful change.

Kylie was followed by Ondrej Lauko, Head of Total Rewards, Accenture, who is passionate about creating a culture where people are empowered to be and deliver their best everyday. He shared how the 4,000 employees at Accenture feel support from a holistic approach to employee benefits.

Maree Morgan-Monk, Head of People, Culture and Capability, and Danica Vujic, HR Specialist, joined us after morning tea to share how Peoplecare – a 200-strong not-for-profit health insurer located on the NSW south coast – became the first health insurer to make it on the AON Best Employer list in 2017. The organisation’s rebellious approach to benefits and recognition ensured its appearance on AON’s list again in 2018 – which just goes to show the team is doing something right!

I want to give a massive shout out to my team here in Australia – all the wonderful RGers who helped put this event together, many of whom stepped way out of their comfort zones to make it a success. I also want to thank all our speakers who shared some incredibly inspiring insights into how to take employee engagement to the next level and make a positive change.

This event sold out in a matter of hours, but I’ve got great news: all the keynote speeches are available in our Resource Library!

So grab a cup of tea or coffee, a few munchies, and sit back and enjoy!
