Partnering with Reward Gateway | Edenred to relaunch 'PeopleMatters' delivered a step-change in culture, retention and HR efficiency for a global leader in life safety and security.

What they needed

Chubb Fire & Security is a global leader in the life safety and security industry - a business whose mission is, simply, to make the world a safer place. With a large, field-based workforce spread across multiple countries, keeping people connected, recognised, and engaged was a significant challenge.

Before the relaunch of PeopleMatters, engagement with the system was low. A sizeable field-based population wasn't using the system at all, recognition was difficult to give across borders, and long service awards were being administered entirely manually, running reports, tracking milestones, managing everything by hand. Benefits, communications, and people information lived in different systems, making it hard for employees to find what they needed.

The goal was clear: consolidate everything into a single, mobile-friendly employee engagement system that could reduce admin, enable cross-border recognition, and demonstrate measurable ROI to leadership.

How we helped

Chubb relaunched PeopleMatters as the definitive one-stop shop for everything people-related in the business. From total reward statements and internal communications to a diversity community hub, wellness centre, shopping discounts, and benefits information, everything now lives in one place.

A key step was expanding to a global contract, enabling appreciation and recognition to be sent across borders - solving one of the most frustrating limitations of the previous setup.

The system was integrated with Workday, automating employee additions and removals, scheduled recognition, and loyalty award programmes - eliminating up to 2 full days of manual HR admin per month.

What they achieved

The results since relaunch have been transformational. Active users jumped from 33% to 94% - a system that was barely used has become central to daily working life at Chubb.

The business impact is equally striking. Employee attrition has fallen by 33%, eNPS has increased by 17%, and the HR team is saving approximately two days per month in admin time through automation alone. In the last year, Chubb employees generated over 6,500 recognition moments and the business spent almost £350,000 on awards. Colleagues saved £36,000 through the discounts programme.

Perhaps most valuably, the system has given the HR team the data and reporting capability to demonstrate return on investment directly to leadership. Turning engagement from a soft priority into a measurable business outcome.

"The impact of PeopleMatters on our organisation has been a 33% reduction in employee attrition and a 17% increase in our eNPS score."
