We were so excited to welcome in more than 400 changemakers tuning in from their desk, couch, outdoor patio or wherever they’re calling ‘work’ nowadays for our first-ever all-virtual Engagement Excellence Live.

Throughout the day, attendees could bounce from room-to-room to hear sessions around our topic: The Future of Work: How HR Heroes are doing more with less to create connected, productive, and resilient organisations.

Shereen Daniels, 'The HR Conversationalist,' Managing Director at HR-Rewired spoke about how HR leaders can be at the forefront of the change needed for the future of work, tackling topics such as the importance of open and honest conversation, company purpose and values and new and sustainable employee engagement practice that can equip leaders for the challenges ahead.

A familiar fixture at our Engagement Excellence Live events, Advisor and Bestselling Author Debra Corey gave practical takeaways for HR leaders to reset their employee engagement strategy using their ‘ABCs’ – in this case, Assess, Build and Connect – to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic with an opportunistic mindset, channelling her inner David Bowie to embrace the ch-ch-changes we're all facing.

She also walked through how other organisations such as Dunelm, Macmillan Cancer Support, Thames Water, Missguided and MEARS have devoted their focus to areas of employee reward and recognition, employee wellness, and internal communications to connect, recognise and support their people.

Debra’s expanded on her ABCs in our latest eBook, which you can take a look at below:

With plenty of HR changemakers at hand, it was the perfect setting for storytelling, especially as some of our clients (from Mitie, Plymouth Community Housing and Vaultex) shared their own practical tips and lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic to create sustainable initiatives for their people.

We couldn’t end the day without a fun, friendly competition - while we had loads of entrants in our social channels, only a few walked away the winners of our special prizes to show off how they were tuning into EnEx Live!

Post-event, attendees could mix up their own cocktail (or mocktail, if work was still to be done!) and cheers to the future of work with a Tropical Engagement Bliss and Changemaker’s Splash.
